A full day family event with many activities, Star Spangled Sparks offers fun for everyone! It's the perfect place to meet up with friends and family for a day of fun in the sun, followed in the evening by the Star Spangled Sparks firework show, put on by John Ascuaga's Nugget.

Sparks Got Talent Show
Join us for the area's foremost talent competition held every 4th of July at the Sparks Marina. Whether you're a dancer, singer, musician or performer we want you! We are looking across the region for talented individuals to perform live at Star Spangled Sparks on the 4th of July.
Simply download and complete the .PDF application. Be sure to fill out the details and mail it, drop it off or fax it to the Northern Nevada Chamber. Submitted applications do not guarantee a performance slot, you will be asked to audition in a closed setting and you must advance in order to perform at Star Spangled Sparks.

Boat building is a great team work building experience for families, businesses, service organizations and more. Boat building is a chance to work closely with your team on a focused goal. Whether building for promotion or for speed, milk carton boat building is a challenging and rewarding experience limited by only your imagination. Fill out the registration form and start your next team building exercise!

Join us for the most prestigious boating competition in the Reno/Sparks area! The competition is open to businesses, organizations and to the general public. The challenge is to design, build and race a boat made from Model Dairy milk cartons at our Annual Boat Regatta. Model Dairy supplies unlimited milk cartons for boat construction.
Constructed vessels are entered into our annual boat regatta at the Sparks Marina on July 4th. There are multiple heats and classifications, with chances to win prizes and capture the gold! This is a great platform for:
- Team building
- Community interaction
- Raising awareness
- Promoting your business or organization.
Companies, churches, service clubs, athletic teams, friends and family are encouraged to come race with us! Can you out-design engineers from Ebara International? Can you build a faster boat than team Ascuaga? Are you one of the fastest boaters in Reno/Sparks? Then come prove it on July 4th in front of hundreds of spectators and media. MILK CARTONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP IN JUNE AT THE BOY’S AND GIRL’S CLUB LOCATED AT 2680 E. 9TH STREET

The application above is for the Annual Fun Run/Walk held by The Chamber and the Sparks Parks & Rec department on July 4th at 8:00 am. This great community event is the perfect chance to run with friends, family and even co-workers. Pre-registration is required.

Join The Chamber and the City of Sparks Parks and Recreation Department for a Fun Run/Walk event on July 4, 2012. The 2 mile walk, run will go around the beautiful Sparks Marina Park. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. with check-in starting at 7:00 a.m. There will not be a timing system or awards for top finishers. There will be a timing clock at the finish line for you to see your time. The registration fee will include a t-shirt.
Entry Fees:
Entries postmarked on or before June 30th - $7 for children and adults. Race day registration on July 4th - $10 for children and adults
Registration will not be accepted after June 30th.

Star Spangled Sparks Seeking Gifts
We are requesting small gifts for our air blow booth to be given to children at our July 4th event at the Sparks Marina. We can have coupons made up with your logo and those coupons are put into the air blow booth. When a child “catches” the coupon it is redeemed at the booth right then. To give you an idea of gifts, so far we have pencils, pens, rulers, crayons, coloring books, rubber ducks, and small water toys.
As you are probably aware, this is a free fun family event. Our children’s area, tethered hot air balloon rides, boat regatta races and the Sparks’ Talent event are free to all that attend. We would like to thank our sponsors for helping make Star Spangled Sparks a community event for everyone!
